My 2024 holiday is, surprise, another cruise, this time it will be my first time in the Mediterranean. Other firsts will be my first trips to Italy, Greece, Croatia and Montenegro. I booked this back to back cruise whilst on my Asian Odyssey. My first port of call will be Venice, Italy.
Getting to Venice
Taking the “hard” way to get to Venice, flying on Emirates via Dubai. I got lucky and was able to book the flights on points. Emirates have always looked after me before so looking forward to a positive start to the trip.
Before boarding the Azamara Pursuit I have few days to explore Venice and possibly Verona.
The Mediterranean Cruise
My cruise is comprised of two separate cruises and is known as a back to back. The thing with back to back cruises is that you need to make sure you have the same cabin on both cruises so you don’t have to move. One of the positives of a back to back is that most cruise lines offer some decent discounts and / or additional onboard credit, so something to keep an eye out for.

Return to Singapore
My return to Singapore will be via Heathrow, not sure if it will be as comfortable on British Airways and Qantas as it was on Emirates. Will probably sleep the whole way anyway.
