Butcher Steak House Moscow, Стейк Хаус Бутчер, was the Moscow Steak Joint that I chose for dinner on my second night in Moscow.
Butcher’s tagline is a bit interesting, doubt that there are many places in the world where you could get away with it.
Butcher Steak House Moscow – a chain of steak houses for the real men!
The Steak
A nice touch is the use of a meat platter to assist with the selection of your meat.
I was hoping that they would be serving Russian bred beef and I was in luck. There were also options from Argentina, Australia, New Zealand (lamb rack) and Uraguay as well.
Entree – Russo Tartare
It looked and smelt amazing and tasted even better! Great texture and well balanced flavours. YUM
Main Course – 200 Day Grain Fed Rib-Eye
I chose for my main a Russian Bred 200 Day Grain Fed Rib-Eye. I like to see if the staff of a restaurant know what they are doing so ask them to advise the correct “doneness” for a cut. The team at Butcher Steak House Moscow know their stuff, recommending medium rare for this cut.
Cooked to perfection! An added touch was the Cambodian Kampot Pepper, one of my favs. The steak was juicy and flavourful, enjoyed it immensely.
This Chef knows how to season a steak and how to get the best out of the produce, unlike some high end Steak Houses I have dined at around the globe. Good quality produce is a start, it is the preparation / seasoning that makes a quality piece of meat a great steak! #justsaying
To balance out the steak I had sides of new potatoes and grilled veggies. A nice addition to the meal.
Butcher Steak House Moscow
I am glad I visited Butcher Steak House Moscow, great service, excellent food. Would definitely dine there again if I had the opportunity to.
My only criticism would be the wine list, nothing really caught my eye, had a couple of glasses of an enjoyable Carmenere Gran Reserva Sibaris, 3.5 out 5.
Cheers!

“For real men” – do they get a tape measure out at reception or something…?
Obviously I looked the part, no measuring. It is an interesting marketing approach.
