Whilst in Portugal what should a wine lover like me do, go to Porto to do a bit of wine tasting, wrong, that is what everyone does. Not really something that I would say is appropriate for me as it is too safe, so I decided to visit the Alentejo D.O.C instead. I am reliably informed that all D.O.C’s ( Denominação de Origem Controlada) in Portugal are very good, so I was not risking much.
As my Portuguese is as good as my Mandarin and I did not want to taste and drive a wine tour was in order. My tour of choice was Cooltour Lisbon‘s Alentejo Wine Tour from Lisbon Including Lunch, the problem was that I was the only one who was booked to go on my tour, luckily for me I was able to convince (well all I had to say was wine) and two friends (who I met for the first time in person after 7 years of remote abuse and banter) Kelly and Tony Summers to join me.
One of the main things that I wanted to do in Lisbon was to taste the food in Portugal and to find out more about the place, so I went looking for a tour online that would provide me with a guided exploration of Portuguese Gourmet Food, Wine and the place itself. I found a Food, Wine and a Walking Tour with a company called Inside Lisbon Tours online for a reasonable price of about USD55.

Recently I had a chance to visit Lisbon Portugal, a place that I have wanted to visit for a long time, have always heard great things about the place. To be honest it was even better than I expected. Friendly people, great architecture, history plus amazing food and wine, what more can you ask for!

Another McLaren Vale winery that I recently visited was Chapel Hill Wine. Chapel Hill Wines were probably one of the first wineries from McLaren Vale South Australia that most people would have tried, they have usually produced decent to good wines and so are a safe bet for a barbeque or Dinner with the family.
