After departing the ship I headed to my hotel for the next few days In Reykjavik, the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina. Unfortunately my room was not ready and had a few hours to wait, so decided it was time to go for a wander.
I guess this guy was blindly heading to work?? Actually it is apparently the Monument to the unknown Bureaucrat

Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina
This is definitely a quirky hotel, clean, well run, and in a great location. So could be a good option for you in Reykjavik. It is also has one of the best bars in the city (apparently)
This is what you see on the way to the toilets…
My Room
Small but functional and more quirkiness.
The View
A pretty good and interesting view from the balcony.
Slippbarinn
As the bar is meant to be one of the best Reykjavik, it would have been rude not to try. First up was very good Gin Martini followed by as nearly as good Manhattan. There are a lot very interesting localised cocktails on the menu, might have to return.
Reykjavik Day 1
After a fairly easy day 1 it was time to head to dinner
Next up is dinner at Grillmarkaðurinn
