A flight of Majella The Malleea vintage was the second set of wines that we tasted as a part of the Wine Exchange Asia 2018 Majella Vintage Tasting at New Ubin Seafood @ Chijmes.
Majella the Malleea
“Malleea” is an Aboriginal term that means “green paddock”.
The first vintage of the Malleea was produced in 1996. The Mallea is only produced when there are ideal growing conditions that will produce a premium quality wine.
Majella only use the finest parcels of fruit from their oldest vines, which, if you missed it in my post about Majella Cabernet Sauvignon, were first planted in 1968.
Winemaking
Majella use the finest parcels of fruit from our oldest vines, ferment them gently in our modern fermentation cellar, and then finish off the ferment in new french oak hogsheads. The wine is then aged for another 18 months in these barrels before being bottled in

imported fine Italian bottles.
