Today we were meant to be transiting through Prins Christen Sund, unfortunately that did not happen due to, you guessed it fog. There was also one more complication added to the mix, the ship’s radar picked up an iceberg that was also near the entrance. Another reason not to risk the transit.
The Captain also mentioned that he was worried that there could be more bergs within the Sund and that it was too narrow to turn around. You couldn’t fault him on this as a ship is not exactly like a car. Throwing the ship into reverse and trying to back out down a narrow channel would be a pretty impressive feat of seamanship…
This was one of the legs that had helped me to decide on this cruise as I wanted to compare the fjords of Greenland with the ones I had seen in Chile.
Dinner
Tonight’s dinner was in Compass Rose with some of my new friends
Entreé
Wagu Beef Puffs
Very tasty, nice combination of flavours. Don’t think I have had Wagu Beef this way before.
Main Course
Beef Penang
The beef was very tender, though needed more chili for me… Still a tasty dish.

After Dinner Tipple
Bakery Hill Cask Strength Single Malt, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Oz’s Rating: | 4 out of 5 My only negative is that it was a bit too peaty for me, otherwise would have rated it higher. This was a 50th present from one of my Godfathers, so extra special! Thanks Vaughan. |
Prins Christian Sund – well a day at sea
Better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to ships, fog and icebergs. A relaxing day at sea is not a bad replacement…
Next up, another day at sea in the North Atlantic on the way to Iceland!
