Pre-Dinner Drinks
First up an extra spicy Bloody Maria, tequila instead of vodka, from the pool bar. The first significant improvement this cruise is that I did not have any issues with my drinks packages, it was nice to be able to sit back and relax after the “fun” associated with our transfer from Venice.
After the sail away from Chioggia, it was to time continue our checking of the bar tending skills of the crew… This time in the Living Room, a dry Gin Martini followed by Espresso Martinis.
So far so good! -:) I think I will survive the trip.
Prime C
For the first night we decided to give Prime C, the on board specialty steak restaurant, a go.
Bread
Nice an fluffy…
Starters
Classic Steak Tartare
Capers, red onion, parsley, Dijon mustard, brioche toast
A great start to the meal! Will be having this again.
Burrata Salad
Apparently this was pretty good.
Mains
Baked Goat Cheese & Onion Tartlet
Onion marmalade, goat cheese, red beets, berries, Caramelized pecan, raspberry dressing
Tasty, nicely presented.
Herb-Coated Rack of Lamb
10 ounces, served on the bone
The lamb was great, cooked as I like it, medium-rare.
Sides
Brussels Sprouts, Bacon, Almonds, Unagi and Steamed Broccoli
Brussels Sprouts and Broccoli, I am a happy dinner..
Cheese
Selection of Artisan Cheeses
The cheese selection is pretty good, will be giving the cheese cart a workout throughout the cruise.
Petit Fours
A nice selection to finish off the dinner.

The Red
2002 Elderton Command Shiraz, Barossa Valley, South Australia

Palate: | Balanced, smooth with evolved tannins |
Finish: | Medium long with some residual heat |
Oz’s Rating: | 4 out of 5 |
This is one of the bottles that I bought with me on the cruise. I am glad it stood up to the travel. A great start.
Prime C
Glad to see that my experience on my previous Azamara Cruise was not a one off, the Prime C team looked after us very well and the food was of a very high quality. Bodes well for the rest of the cruise.
Sunset
During dinner there was a great sunset, I rudely snuck out between courses to take some photos.
It was very good, but the sunset in Zadar still beats it.
After Dinner
After such an arduous and long day I thought that I deserved a night cap, so I headed back to the Living Room…
An Old Fashioned is one of my favourite after dinner drinks, this one was fairly good .
